Obscura Day is an Atlas Obscura tradition where the whole team takes a day off to explore—whether it’s a nearby hidden gem or a distant, wondrous site. Check out the places our team visited.

I’ve had Abu’s Homestyle Bakery marked as “want to go” for years, and this Obscura Day was the perfect opportunity to finally get there. It’s an unassuming counter-service cafe on a commercial block in my neighborhood of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, and the bean pie was absolutely scrumptious. Unfortunately Abu himself was not there that day, but I’ll hope to catch him next time!
